My love language is food.
I’ll be really honest with you here…I have not mastered the art of baking. Slowly, but surely, I hope to learn not just how to bake well, but to really enjoy baking. Especially pies, cakes, and bread.
(I know the homestead community is all about sourdough. But right now it’s a big “sour-no” for me.)
I’d rather cook a savory meal than bake any day! My favorite recipe is from the Hersman family cookbook. The Hersmans are Ben’s mothers side of the family and they can cook!
My favorite is Linda’s Chicken recipe.
It makes me drool just thinking about it. I request it for my birthday dinner every year . It’s simple to make and so delicious to eat so I want to share it with you.
Linda’s Chicken:
1-1 1/2 lbs. chipped ham (shaved deli ham)
8 Chicken breasts bones and skinned
8 slices of bacon
1 8oz pkg. sour cream
1 can cream of mushroom soup
Optional: 1 extra cup mushrooms
Line baking sheet with ham. Wrap chicken breasts with a piece of bacon and place on top of ham. Mix sour cream , cream of mushroom soup and any additional mushrooms. Pour over chicken. Bake at 275 degrees for 3 hours.
Did you try the chicken recipe? Let me know if you love it as much as I do!
